About the builder
Hi, Im Hunter.
I spend a lot of time building fly rods and a lot of time trying to catch trout.
I enjoy small-stream fishing and wandering into the mountains in search of trout, often getting skunked but occasionally finding fish in unexpected places.
Right now, my focus is simple: building rods that feel smooth in hand, stay balanced while casting, and look clean without unnecessary flash.
What I Build
I build custom fly rods in graphite and fiberglass, focused on freshwater setups. Each rod is built one at a time with close attention to balance, alignment, and finish quality.
I’m currently refining a focused build range, rather than offering endless variations. The goal is to execute a few configurations exceptionally well.

My Approach
My style leans clean and minimalistic.
- Thoughtful component choices.
- Precise wraps.
- Subtle custom elements when requested — such as refined thread accents or a feather inlay
Every rod I put out looks intentional, not ornamental. It’s in my best interest if your buddies are jealous.
The Process
We Talk Rods
Every custom rod starts with a conversation about where you fish, the type of water you enjoy, and how you want the rod to feel in hand.
Configuration
I recommend a build from the rods I’m currently focusing on: blanks, components, and aesthetics that work well together.
